Fuzhou City, abbreviated as "Rong", also known as Rongcheng and formerly known as Mindu, is a prefecture level city, provincial capital, and Type I large city under the jurisdiction of Fujian Province. It is located in the eastern part of Fujian Province, the lower reaches of the Minjiang River, and coastal areas; The landform belongs to a typical estuarine basin, mainly consisting of mountains and hills; Belonging to a typical subtropical monsoon climate, warm and humid, evergreen all year round. Fuzhou has a long history and profound cultural heritage, with a history of over 2200 years since its establishment. In the 13th year of Tang Kaiyuan (725 AD), Fuzhou was promoted to the position of Governor's Office, with its capital located within the city (now Guping Road). The name Fuzhou has been in use ever since, and it was named after a Fushan Mountain within the city. The city was built in the fifth year of Emperor Gao of Han (202 BC). 

Since the Ming Dynasty, Fuzhou has been the capital of Fujian Province. Fuzhou is the core city of the Fuzhou metropolitan area, one of the central cities of the economic zone on the west coast of the Taiwan Strait approved by the State Council, and a coastal ecological garden city. Fuzhou is a national historical and cultural city with four major cultural landmarks, including Tanshi Mountain, Chuanzheng, Sanfang Qixiang, and Shoushan Stone. From here, a group of historical figures such as Lin Zexu, Shen Baozhen, and Yan Fu have emerged. Fuzhou Mawei District is the cradle of modern Chinese navy and the birthplace of Chinese shipbuilding culture. It is one of the earliest five commercial ports opened in modern China.
